Delphine Hartshorn’s customers told her what they wanted to see next from her business. After over a year of requests from the customers of her boutique, Seventy Two West, asking to rent items for events, she finally launched a rental business called Provo Party Rentals. She used Booqable to bring it to life with online bookings and inventory management.
Listening to customer feedback is one of the most crucial parts of growing a business. After all, they are the ones who come to you and keep coming back to you. By listening to their wishes, you can form the next steps of your business. Whether offering more products, adding more delivery options, or starting a rental company on the side of your retail business.
Provo Party Rentals
Delphine has been running her boutique, Seventy Two West, for five years, in Grace Bay, Turks and Caicos. She sells a range of creative, unique, and carefully curated home decor, clothing, stationary, and beach products. Each one is inspired by the island’s culture, with beautiful designs that can seamlessly fit into any home, making the perfect gifts.
Often, she would receive requests from customers to rent the items she offered, but Delphine didn’t have any intention of renting out products as she was focused on retail. However, her plans changed after a trip to the USA in the summer of that year for her wedding. She struggled to find exactly what she wanted from event decor rental businesses in the area.
She ordered items from her local suppliers in Turks and Caicos to have exactly what she wanted for her big day. Her experience finding the exact things she wanted triggered a change in her view to offering products for rent alongside the retail items. After the wedding, she shipped it all back home, and Provo Party Rentals was born.
The rental learning curve
Of course, it wasn’t as easy as just renting out items as the workflow is entirely different from retail items. There was a period of learning for Delphine as she researched precisely what she needed to run a rental business efficiently alongside her retail business successfully. This path led her to Booqable, and she knew she’d found the software to make this journey much more straightforward.
From her research, she learned that she would need to be able to manage inventory, keep track of where it was and who had booked it, invoice customers, accept online bookings, and stay organized. After using Booqable for a couple of weeks, she was able to achieve all of this with ease and quickly set up all her existing products in her inventory.
She found a WordPress theme that perfectly fits the styling of her business and integrated Booqable after installing the plugin. Quickly, she was able to get all of her products online and make them available to rent. She added a menu item to her existing website for Seventy Two West, so her customers could easily find her new rental store that they’d been requesting.
Renting out beautiful decor
Delphine now not only rents out everything you need to create a beautiful event space but also caters to people who are staging homes to sell. This has been possible thanks to her modern and minimal furniture style. Each item is carefully curated from local suppliers, and she has loved creating this rental experience for her customers.
Speaking of customers, they have found the website easy to use, and the booking experience is smooth to navigate. They can easily find exactly what they’re looking for, see what’s available, and book it immediately. Delphine plans to continue to grow her offering with unique and niche items that she knows customers love and will keep them coming back to Provo Party Rentals.
