Ben White and his family love exploring Australia in a 4WD, so they felt inspired to start their own 4WD rental business. They originally used dedicated car rental software to manage their inventory and accept bookings; however, it lacked an availability calendar, and the booking process was complex. Ben and his family have long enjoyed adventures in 4WD vehicles during vacations. They loved it so much that they felt inspired to provide a specialized 4WD for others to experience for themselves. So, in 2020, they purchased a Toyota FJ Cruiser, created a basic website, and started advertising on social media. Since then, they have purchased two additional vehicles and created a new website to accommodate online bookings.

Frontier Tourers’ fleet consists of a Toyota FJ Cruiser, a Jeep Wrangler, and a Jeep Gladiator. Each is fitted with specialized equipment that caters to every adventurer’s needs. This includes recovery equipment, a fridge, and optional premium camping packages for the more daring. Based in Queensland, Australia, Frontier Tourers provides delivery options from the Sunshine Coast to Brisbane.

It caters to couples, small families, groups, and guys on weekend getaways who are looking for an adventure. Customers can choose to have their vehicle delivered to airports or specific locations within 1.5 hours of the business’ location. In addition, cleaning and top-quality gear are provided at no extra cost to customers, so they can focus on having a great time.

A better booking process

When they first started Frontier Tourers, Ben and his team used dedicated car rental software called Rentsyst. While it served them well in the beginning, as the business grew, they found it difficult to adapt to changing customer expectations within the system. It lacked a real-time availability calendar, and the booking process was quite complex compared to other systems.

Finally, when they decided to redesign their website, they knew it was time to find a better solution. Their search led them to Booqable, which proved to be almost exactly what they were looking for. They were able to integrate Booqbale’s booking components into their Webflow website, and now customers can see the availability of their vehicles before making a booking.

Ben and his team have been able to create a smoother booking experience for customers by utilizing embeddable components. First, customers choose their rental period, then their vehicle, any extras, and their desired pickup and return locations. This has made it significantly easier for customers to make informed decisions and reduced the number of calls received asking for help when booking.

More adventures to remote areas

Ben and his team have been able to make major improvements to their booking process with Booqable. Now, they are focused on discovering more remote areas they can take customers to and determine how to provide better access. In addition, they are interested in expanding their fleet with a wider range of vehicles to provide customers with more choices.
